Literacy Short Course

​​​​​​Who is the Literacy Short Course for?

Year 10, 11 and 12 students who:

  • May find English studies challenging
  • Need extra support to build strong literacy skills
  • Are at risk of not meeting the literacy requirement for their QCE

Students should be performing at least at Level 2 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).

 

What is the Literacy Short Course?

The Literacy Short Course is a flexible, one-unit online course that:

  • Takes around 55 hours to complete
  • Involves two internal assessments
  • Focuses on practical literacy skills for life, study, and work
  • Contributes one QCE point
  • Meets the literacy requirement for the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
  • Does not contribute to ATAR, making it ideal for students heading into vocational pathways or work.
