Josie embarks on International Tour

FisherONE Student Josie set to embark on Australian Girls Choir International Tour, Celebrating 11 Years of Musical Excellence.

Talented FisherONE Student, Josie Staples, has been selected to join the highly competitive Australian Girls Choir (AGC) for their upcoming international tour to Rome, Marostica, Venice, St Amant De Boixe and Paris.

Josie said the milestone marks her 11th year with the renowned choir, highlighting her dedication, passion, and remarkable musical journey.  “After joining in 2013, I have been fortunate enough to participate in two national tours, visiting Victoria, Tasmania, and Western Australia, however, this will be my first international tour, which is incredibly exciting,” she said.

"I have always wanted to do an international tour, so I am ecstatic that I was selected for this opportunity.

"The community is the best part about AGC - everyone is there for the same reasons; we are such a tight-knit group.”

From enchanting audiences at cricket games as part of the Qantas choir to performing a prestigious event like the Olympic Welcome Home Dinner, and, most recently, singing at the Royal Flying Doctors Service Charity Gala, performing with the AGC has been an unparalleled experience for Josie.

Assistant Principal, FisherONE, Megan Pidskalny said Josie's dedication and commitment to the Australian Girls Choir have not only nurtured her musical talents but have also equipped her with invaluable skills that will serve her well in any future endeavor.

"Even though Josie doesn't plan to pursue a career in the performing arts, her time with AGC has provided her with a strong foundation in professionalism and public speaking,” Ms Pidskalny said.

“These transferable skills will undoubtedly assist her in her studies and contribute to her success in any field she chooses."

“We are incredibly proud of Josie and look forward to watching her thrive as she achieves this personal milestone.”

Josie’s tour is three weeks long from 15th of September to 6th of October.
