FisherONE Student, Ezekiel, Embarks on Life-Changing Mission Trip to Uganda

FisherONE student Ezekiel is gearing up for an extraordinary journey of service and personal growth as he prepares to embark on a mission trip to Uganda. With a passion for making a difference, Ezekiel eagerly anticipates the life-changing experiences that await him in the African nation.

Ezekiel said he has always wanted to go on missions' trip.

“I've always loved serving the community, especially at church, so when the opportunity came up I jumped at it, I know it will change my life for the better."

His enthusiasm and dedication to serving others shine through as he eagerly looks forward to the transformative impact this trip will have on both himself and the communities he will be serving.

Scheduled from April 19th to April 31st, Ezekiel's journey will encompass two weeks of immersive service and cultural exchange.

"I personally hope that this trip will open my eyes to the world outside of Australia, and help me grow both mentally and spiritually," he said.

“I also think it will help me be more grateful for the things I have and the people around me because I think we can take life for granted all the time."

Throughout the trip, Ezekiel is excited to participate in various projects and activities aimed at improving the lives of those in need. From painting schools to interacting with local communities, Ezekiel is eager to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed most.

In terms of cultural exchange, Ezekiel anticipates adjusting to differences in lifestyle, including adapting to new foods and living conditions, however, he is most excited about the opportunity to connect with the people of Uganda.

"I love sport and I'm a tall person so I'd really love to play some sport with the people over there, maybe introduce them to some Australian sports."

“As one of the youngest members of the mission team, Ezekiel envisions his role as integral to the success of their collective efforts.

Looking ahead to the future, Ezekiel hopes to continue supporting the Ugandan community and Operation Uganda's mission even after returning home.

FisherONE Online Education Assistant Principal Megan Pidskalny said Ezekiel's commitment to service and his dedication to making a positive impact are inspiring.

“We are proud to support him on this journey and look forward to hearing about the profound experiences that await him in Uganda.

“At FisherONE, we cultivate a progressive lifelong learning mindset, empowering students like Ezekiel to embrace diverse experiences and global perspectives.

“Ezekiel's mission to Uganda exemplifies this ethos, showcasing his dedication to service, cultural understanding, and continual growth—a testament to the transformative power of education beyond the traditional classroom."
